Torque Vectoring, Without the Marketing Language

Torque vectoring is often described as if it were a single feature. In practice it's a control loop — a continuous negotiation between steering angle, throttle position, yaw rate, and wheel slip, resolved up to 500 times per second.

Axle-level vs. wheel-level

On VANTA R1 and GT, torque vectoring happens at the axle level: front and rear motors are commanded independently, but the two wheels on a given axle still share torque through an open or mechanically-limited differential.

On VANTA X, the rear axle uses two independent motors — one per wheel. That allows true wheel-level vectoring, which matters more on a taller, heavier vehicle where body roll works against rotation.

Why RS doesn't have it

RS uses a traditional mechanical limited-slip differential instead of electronic torque vectoring. That's a deliberate character choice: RS is built for drivers who want to feel the differential working, not have its behavior smoothed away by software.
